    Medical Staffing Network Executive
    Advocates for Quality Healthcare Staffing
    at Events Nationwide

Boca Raton, FL - In addition to her duties as Medical Staffing Network, Executive Vice President, Quality Improvement, Patricia Layton, RN, has been busy in recent months, having been invited to advocate on behalf of nurses at several nursing events. Some of these include the Nursingmatters Expo 2008, The Joint Commission Breakfast Briefings, and the West Coast of Florida Health Care Recruiters Association chapter meeting in March.

Speaking to over 500 nurses at the February 21st Nusingmatters Expo, "Nursing with Spirit" in Wisconsin, Ms. Layton addressed the audience on what it has meant to be a nurse and shared some life experiences with the group. Medical Staffing Network was a co-sponsor of the luncheon.

The Joint Commission Breakfast Briefings are tailored for healthcare staffing firms not yet certified by the Joint Commission who wish to learn more about the certification process. Instrumental in helping Medical Staffing Network obtain its certification in 2005, Ms. Layton was a valuable source of insight for attendees. She shared the value of certification for staffing firms, described the process by which they can prepare for certification, as well as why Medical Staffing Network chose to become corporately certified by The Joint Commission.

As a guest speaker at the March meeting of the West Central Florida Healthcare Recruiters Association (WCFHCRA), Ms. Layton presented the comparison of The Joint Commission Standards for Hospital Accreditation to the standards for Health Care Staffing Services Certification. A walk-through of the actual certification process for Health Care Staffing Services was also described, as well as the new accreditation standards for hospitals that became effective January of this year.
